CEAs

Beginning this year, a new component to the InSPIRESS program was involvement in the community. This new aspect to the program is called the Community Engagement Activity (CEA) which is an opportunity for InSPIRESS teams to showcase their work to the local community. In summary, the CEA creates opportunities for the teams to use their imagination and creativity to show their local community what they have learned and created this semester through InSPIRESS. The dates and locations of CEA activities are determined among the team, the teacher sponsor and the recipient of the CEA presentation. A CEA consists of visitors who complete a CEA Survey, must relate to the mission and/or payload concept, and must be at least 30 minutes in length. At the end of each CEA, the team must collect the surveys that are distributed to verify the visitor attendance to qualify the event as a CEA. The purpose of the CEA Surveys was not only to verify CEA visitors but to gauge the general public’s knowledge of NASA. Team S.T.A.R. took part in a total of 5 CEAs: 4th grade, 6th grade, 9th grade, 11th grade, and Cullman County Board of Education (CCBOE).200 CEA Surveys were completed and turned in as proof of visitor attendance at the team’s CEAs.
